No Ducks Seminars were developed to help the struggling HVAC industry fill in the gaps of both formal and field training for our up and coming technicians. As employers, teachers and mentors, we so often pass over the basics of what we do every day. In order to get to the “good stuff”, we fail to provide a critical foundation on which to build.
If we don’t teach them why condensate leaks occur, or what the symbols on the wiring diagram mean, how can we honestly expect them to do the job correctly? Don’t worry, you’re not the only one; this is an industry wide problem. Unfortunately, it is likely to get worse as new technicians become more difficult to find, which is why we put together these quick, but intense classes.
Our seminars are designed to answer the questions that techs are afraid to ask.For example, many technicians don’t use their multimeters because they are unsure of the symbols and settings on the dial, or they were simply never taught how to test certain components. The same applies to most installers. They may own a ductulator, but probably size supply and return ducts at the same 0.1” WC., not knowing what problems they could be creating.
